By India Today World Desk: Bykea, a Pakistani ride-hailing service and parcel delivery company, was hacked on Tuesday. When people tried to log in to the app, they received abusive messages.
Several users complained of receiving abusive notifications from the app.
People took to Twitter to post photos of abusive messages and notifications they received after Bykea was hacked.
Bykea later apologised for the “inappropriate message” and confirmed that a third party communication tool was compromised.
“We apologise for the inappropriate messaging sent through Bykea. We can confirm that this was a third party communication tool which got compromised. Our team has restored it. Bykea app is fully functional and safe to use,” the firm said in a statement.
